Short version

Reading the site does not set tracking or advertising cookies. The only cookies and browser storage we use are the ones needed to keep you signed in and to remember basic display choices.

What we use

ItemPurposeWhen it is set
Session cookieKeeps you signed in to an optional accountOnly after you sign in
Security tokensProtect sign-in and password-reset forms from forgeryWhen you use those forms
Local display settingsRemember small interface choices on your deviceWhen you change a setting

Analytics

If cookieless Plausible analytics is turned on, it measures visits without cookies and without storing personal data on your device. Google Analytics is not used on this site.

Third parties

If you choose to sign in with Google, Google may set its own cookies on its own pages and in its sign-in widget, under Google's policies. Links to stores and streaming services take you to sites that set their own cookies.

Your controls

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking the session cookie means you will not be able to stay signed in, but you can still read every guide. Our privacy policy explains how we handle personal data more broadly.
